Hawk’s Lunch

The hawk was efficient and strong.

As I sat on the patio with my family, we watched as a red tail hawk swooped into the brush grabbed a rabbit. The hawk was efficient and strong. There was no wavering in the precision strike that provided a fresh feast. The circle of life isn’t always pleasant to witness in real time. Yet, sometimes it is necessary to get our attention.

Hawks encourage us to snatch up an opportunity that is presented before us. They also show up to remind us how to circle high above and examine life from a different point of view.

Have you ever found yourself energetically hiding in the underbrush and fostering relationships with rabbits?  It can be a safe and familiar pattern of comfort. We can learn about keen observation skills and trust from the rabbits.  We can also become vulnerable to the cycle of life if we begin to wallow in fear.

What else is there to see if you consider the situation from hawk’s perspective? Hawk soars above to see opportunity. Hawk inspires communion with your higher power. From the hawk’s eye view, rabbits are a tasty lunch. Hawk does not feel guilty for seeking nourishment. He is not wasteful or greedy.

Are you feeling guilty or attached to something that is no longer serving you? Take a moment to consider it from the Hawk’s point of view.  In Joy, Michelle
